Gabriela Romaria

My name is Gabriela Romaria and I was born in Romania. I came in UK as a teacher in 2004. I have been teaching Mathematics and ICT for 8 years. From 2007 I started to paint, write and create my own music.

The art, in all its forms, had influenced my whole life. Each of my paintings reflects the feeling I had at a specific moment of time.

The great painters who influenced my style are: Klimt, Picasso, V. Van Gogh, the Asian painters who represented Buddha and aboriginal painters from Australia.

I like the paintings where the lifes forms arent draw in a rigid and fix way, where you can play with them as you like

I like to have the liberty to express myself, to transmitte an inside feeling, an idea, a thought

As a Mathematics Teacher, I love geometry with its forms, more or less abstract, which, I think, had influenced my style of painting, too...

From where I was young, I had a talent for painting, which I had inherited from my dad who used to paint in his free time. During the school time I remember the teacher asking me to give her one of my watercolor painting to can show it to expositions which took place in our town. EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1989 -1994: "David Prodan" High School, Cugir, Romania
- 1994-1998: Babes-Bolyai University from Cluj-Napoca, Faculty of Mathematics and Computers, department of Mathematics; after 4 years I got a Degree Diploma in Mathematics
- 1999-2001: Babes-Bolyai University from Cluj - Napoca, Faculty of Mathematics and Computers, a course of Computers, after one year and , I got a Degree Diploma in Computers
- August 2001 After an exam I obtained the title for an official Mathematics professor (I have got the Qualified Teacher Status in Romania)
- February 2004 - I studied Web design at South East Essex College Southend, a weekend-course for three weeks (www.se-essex-college.ac.uk)
- 15th May 2004 I studied Java Script at the South East Essex College, a weekend course for 15th weeks. (www.se-essex-college.ac.uk)
- March. 2007 I passed an English Exam (with grade C) equivalent to the GCSE English in England
