Art has been in my vein since early childhood, when I spent my summers in the village of my grandfather’s, observing the magnificent landscapes. My name is Hagher Ghebremariam; I am a self-taught and self-employed artist from Canada, with over 15 years of experience. Initially, I came from a small country in eastern Africa, Eritrea.
When I produce a work of art, I often try to portray issues or feelings that are intimately related to me, and/or ideas that create the excitement or challenge that intrigue me to address them. The main themes or subjects of my paintings are mostly abstract and semi-abstract realism art, such as landscapes, portraits, and still lives. With regards to the materials I use, in the past, I used watercolor, acrylic, and oil paints, although lately, I have focused more on the last two types of paint.
When I create a work of art, I always tend to learn and draw inspiration from personal experience and empirical research. Most of my creative thinking and work are highly influenced and shaped by my studies with a master's degree in international relations.
