Coming to art through the gateway of architecture, my journey began within the rigorous exploration of space, form, and experience—guided by a phenomenological approach. This foundation is not merely about assembling materials or shaping structures; it is an ongoing inquiry into how the body, mind, and spirit navigate and inhabit the world. Deeply informed by poetry, my architectural work sought out the ineffable: the sacred and the beautiful, encountered as pivotal elements in the human pursuit of truth. Art, in this sense, became a natural extension—a destination where these quests could reach their fullest and most intimate expression.
My evolution from architecture into the visual arts emerges from a belief that beauty and the sacred are not ornamental but essential, guiding us toward clarity and meaning. Poetry—both in language and in experience—has shaped the cadence of this journey, attuning me to the subtle resonances between form and feeling. Seeking to channel these sensibilities, I found in art-making a medium where the search for illumination feels both immediate and transcendent. The practice of drawing, in particular, offers a kind of slow meditation, where each mark becomes a ritual in the search for truth.
