Anike Henry

I was born in Enugu in South East Nigeria in 1994. Having grown up in a busy neighborhood my love of the outdoors grew tremendously, but I wasn't well equipped for that social life being a shy kid and all. Throughout my life, I have always been fascinated by images and how the world is represented through the eyes of others. Naturally, I was drawn to Photography and Art. The interest was cultivated during my teenage years when I would draw portraits of people I saw on newspapers and magazine covers, and further developed when I opted to Intern as a Photographer.

After completing my apprenticeship, I delved even more into my photography practice, which involved a whole lot of portraiture and fine art. The images I take show a desire to capture the dynamism of the human person. My mind works in a way that is spontaneous and that shows in my work. My style of photography is diverse, in that I am not bound by many limitations, but it still centers around people. I use photography to explain my thoughts and ideas where words fail me.
