The creativity and gift for handcraft was already given to the educated metal worker in its infancy: From specially built high seats through underground caves in the forest to the development of a barrier system on the thoroughfare for the improvement of pocket money. Later, the production of his own furniture such as tables, patio lounges followed to an own designer bed made of wood and stainless steel for domestic use. At this point, Steffen focused on Ancient and Modern to connect with each other. An artistic, multi-week internship at a prestigious props workshop in Hamburg in 2014 encouraged Steffen to turn his passion into a career. Since 2015 he has been active as a freelance visual artist and creative.
Steffen not only paints on canvas, but also on discarded timber or pallet wood, MDF or HDF - plates. A focus of his abstract works lies in the subject "Upcycling": old, apparently pointless everyday subjects find a new use. Antique picture frames, upholstery nails from a long forgotten time, rusty screws or old metal form together with acryl and different textures a symbiosis and create something new.
