Chris Holden

Born in Lancaster, England.

I started drawing from a very young age, perhaps 10 years old or younger. I had a strong interest in replicating other images and portraits and especially art works that I admired.

After spending so many years doing this and eventually having to get a job and a career to get by, i found that the camera was my new medium. For many years I just used a smartphone camera, but more recently wanting to share my work with the world I have moved to a dedicated camera.

I was taught how to use a camera at college where I studied fine art, this is where I gained an appreciation for film photography and the skill of capturing an image. I held onto these ideals even when using a smartphone to capture images.

I have found many sources of inspiration for my work over the years, it always used to centre around people. More lately I have found a lot of joy and challenge in trying to capture landscapes. I like trying to share a view of the world that others may have missed.

I think nature is a particular source of inspiration for me, and for many now as we are made increasingly aware of the state of our planet. It is important now more than ever that we show people what we will be missing if we don't try t...
