Gorki Bollar

Born in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1944.Living and working in Amsterdam since 1976.Before that he spent ten years in London, where he exhibited his work several times.I am interested in figuration and realism. I combine in my pictures elements from the reality with abstract forms that result of the painting process.

Studied art in Montevideo, in the workshop of the painter José Gurvich. I have exhibited in England, with The London Group, at the Whitechapel Gallery, 1973. Other exhibitions: Art Expo,1980, New York, and the Museum of Contemporary Hispanic Art,New York, 1988. In 2000 a Retrospective Exhibition of my work was shown at the Museum Rijswijk, in the Netherlands. In 2006 I took part in the First Biennale of Latin American Art in Amsterdam, both as curator and exhibitor.,
