Realist artist Indigo Wise was born and raised in Auckland, NZ, in 2005 she moved to Golden Bay, NZ, surrounded, and constantly inspired by nature and all it's beauty, realising the creations that are part of my heart and mind.
She has always felt a connection with art. Although not being encouraged to pursue her meant she didn’t start painting and drawing until relatively recently, a ‘Creativity for Change’ course unlocked the door and she walked through!
When Indigo paints or draws it becomes like breathing to her and space and time have no value. She strives to breathe life into every finished piece of work.
Her American Indian lineage is evident throughout her work.
It’s important to Indigo that she is making a difference through her art, with the Falcon series she partnered with the Marlborough Falcon Conservation Trust and money raised from her works helps these endangered birds.
For several years Indigo has contributed to Operation Restore Hope, which is a not-for-profit, non-governmental, non-sectarian charity that provides surgical procedures for underprivileged children in the Philippines, and she also makes regular contributions from sales of my artwork, to Mercy Ships bringing hope and healing to developing natio...
