Indrani Ilmi

I spent my primary years in India after which I have lived in Dubai for the larger part of my life.
I am a self-taught visual artist and have been painting recreationally over the last 25 years. I work primarily with acrylic and oil paints on canvas. My paintings reflect on my emotions, my environment. or thoughts.
What inspires me most is the essence and fleeting nature of light, conveying its momentary magic and elusive quality, which can innately transform a situation in moments. My abstract work is primarily intuitive; the process of creating these pieces is often unpredictable as i let my feelings and emotions take over while making no prior decisions about the direction or outcome.
I feel as though my art allows me to form emotional bonds with my audience. I am so thankful that i can share my passion with you through art.

I studied French followed by a formal training in Fashion Design in New York.
