Iri Artwork

I paint under the pseudonym “iri”. My paintings are based on culture, religion and mythology.

While the primary essence of a painting is delivered in bold colors and geometry, more intricate ideas and tangential thoughts are obscurely presented as finite details and geometric elements. Symbolism in line, color, texture, form and composition provides me with a language to convey the abstract yet important ideas.

I explore my thoughts through a variety of media – primed and/or stretched canvas, watercolor paper, raw canvas “scrolls” and more. I use acrylics, oil paints, oil pastels and/or mixed media to create each piece.

I hope that the future owners of these paintings enjoy them as much as I have painting them.
