Iulia Stoian Cotiga

My journey in finding the art I love to do started from childhood; although from an early age I was very impressed by renaissance works, during teenage years I saw boldness and simplicity in a la prima and impressionist works; only for a little while, because my love for old masters grew during adult years, and Rembrandt, van Dyck and Velazquez eventually replaced Cezanne, Monet and Renoir.
For many years I acquired academic skills in painting, and also tried the a la prima technique… it is a journey, but I understood that my paintings would be somewhere in between and the connection with my subject would matter the most. I am fascinated to learn, to discover more and I know it will be a lifetime journey and I’m sure I will enjoy every moment.
