Javier Bohorquez

Javier Bohorquez is a photographer and a contemporary artist based in Dallas, TX. His work is being recognized under Jabo (Javier Bohorquez).

The beauty of nature has inspired his love for digital photography. What started as a hobby quickly turned into a passion. His interest grew bigger as he was exploring through his gardens, his trips and his surroundings.

The foundation of his digital artwork is based upon his photographs. His creative process involves layers of imagination that create powerful compositions where color plays a dominant role. For Jabo, color is a strong driving force that comes from his Latin roots.

His technical skill were gained from studies done at leading schools such as the International Center of Photography in New York and the Applied Art School in Amagansett, New York. Additionally, he has had the opportunity to attend a number of seminars with both talented and gifted photographers such as Scott Kelby, a master in digital
photography. But after all, experimenting has been his biggest teacher! He is amazed at how things do not always seem what they look like… “There is a surprise factor that we should always keep in mind”, he says.

His work has been exhibited in galleries in New York City, The Hamptons, Dallas, Minneapolis, and South Florida.
