"Squares, rectangles, painting"

It is true that I do not approach a painting with either the subject identified or its pattern or name recognised.My natural inclination leads me more towards opening windows (rectangular or square), attracting the eye toward the quality of the material, the transparency, the whole clever game of mirrors between paints that raise questions and then respond, without forgetting the lines that cross, that cut through each other, that form their own order and structure together.The very subject, the underlying theme, is by the by, a mere pretext for development. I am more concerned with what opens out into the unknown, reaches into the dark forces, takes me to the other side where everything can begin and, in a way, where everything also ends.
