James Grimditch

'Painting has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. From drawing cartoon characters as a youngster to wild experiments with abstract designs at University, art means a great deal to me.

Over the years I have been lucky enough to take part in a collection of solo exhibitions, group shows and art fairs. I have also had the pleasure of meeting some fantastic, creative minds along the way. Through a number of career changes, I have taken breaks away from the canvas but ultimately, I have always returned. Like countless others, painting is my great escape!

My style has certainly evolved. Primarily an abstract artist, my work is now far more representational. In 2019, my subject matter suddenly steered towards wildlife, without really knowing how I got there other than personal interest and happy coincidence! While I am still on a nature spree, my love for the abstract has not disappeared and I still find myself flicking between styles. On occasion I have even tried merging the two.
