James Lawton

I started painting with acrylics in 2006 after I was inspired by local artists’ work being displayed at a wine bar in Tooting, South West London. Later that year I held my first exhibition and it was with great pride that everyone came to see my work that was now hanging on those same walls. It was a great success and helped fuel my passion to continue.

I love the versatility that acrylic paint offers and am always experimenting with new techniques and ideas which has led me to now offer a wide range of styles in my art. My work is driven by emotion and feeling and thoughts of what the finished piece might evoke in the viewer. Textures, colours and subject matter all fuse together to give the final result.
