I have painted both murals and paintings through-out New Zealand, Australia, UK, France, Switzerland, Marocco, Sri Lanka and Costa Rica.
To me, painting is soul connection, freedom, peace and magic.

i enjoy using all mediums tho oils are my favorite.
I began using oils in 2004 while in Sri Lanka as acrylics would've dried out to quickly. What a beautiful medium. Nowadays I begin most works with an acrylic underpainting and finish with artist oils. I also make use of glazes for more depth. I love experimenting and will often mix whatever paint is to hand, be it acrylic house paint or synthetic gloss paint. I also use the elements, painting outside on a breezy day or a really hot day and playing with this as paint dries quickly on the outside while remaining fluid on the inside eventually drying with wonderful texture. I agree it is good to be taught techniques but I also love that am discovering much for myself. A teacher once wrote in a school report that I was too independent to make a good student. Rules - in some respects they are only good to know so you can ignore them or bend them, especially when it comes to creativity and self expression.

I tend to exhibit in cafes and boutiques and i love the atmosphere of both and it is important to me that the places are on my wavelength and that my paintings go with the place and it's clients. I also do pop up exhibitions in summer artisan markets.
