Janine Lang

I am a South African artist fascinated with faces and the natural world around me.

For many years I was lost in a world of a predictable career, drowning my creative being for the sake of security and comfort. But that inner voice kept nudging at me to be more, do more, be true to myself. And so, I swapped my air-conditioned office for a sun-filled studio, my heels for bare feet and my frustration for freedom of spirit in the pursuit of what I'm called to be.

I have always looked at how to make something practical or solve a problem creatively, working with my hands as an extension of my artistic mind. I have attended informal art classes but have no formal training and my technique is largely self-taught and experimental.
