Alberto Iovane

Alberto Iovane (alias jaxj), lives in Rome for the most part and often lives in Venice, Paris, and Spoleto.
He currently has his own atelier in Tuscany ( Monte Argentario).
Since the year 2000 – once he ceased his professional activity as economist – he has been devoting his life to painting and sculpturing.

Jaxj artistic activity moves along a very lively and busy path ( from Chaos to Tidiness), that embodies his becoming and ever developing being.

Abstract is initially the language which is closer to his feelings: Art to give emotion must detach itself from Figuration (Kandinsky).

In his research, along in his early stage he made some works that became dynamic because of the free instinctive action ( castings of resins on perspex).

At a later stage his artistic research aimed at looking into the expressive qualities of matter and made monochromatic works using resins, polyethylene, polyurethane, syntethic enamel paint and other materials (Informal).
