Painting with resin is an expeditious and final process that requires a fast hand. Once the resin is mixed curing begins. Each layer is completed within a span of sixty to ninety minutes, the favorable range of time for malleability. Many of the paintings have several layers of clear and color and some are completed with only a single layer. It is the flowing nature of the resin, combined with a unique technique, that creates a seemingly dynamic field. It offers the viewer an expanding field of view, beyond a traditional two dimensional impression.
The resin used in these works is a non-yellowing, no VOC epoxy that when cured, has a lustrous, glass-like surface. The finish is highly reflective.
