My name is Jean Feeney. I live in Perthshire, right in the heart of rural Scotland, and I've been a full time professional artist for 30 years. I'm married with two grown up daughters who are off pursuing their own dreams. I'm lucky to live in one of the most beautiful parts of the world, and I travel extensively throughout Scotland, although my main source of inspiration is the West Coast of Scotland, her Highlands and Islands.
I was brought up and educated in England, not far from the old mediaeval town of Chester. Over the course of many years since leaving school, I have attended several colleges and universities, but came a little late to my art education. I started that off at Perth College and although I was able to attend art school, a protracted spell of ill health meant I couldn't go through with it. I then embarked on a journey of self education with much wonderful input from some great artists along the way, and their support and encouragement were instrumental in furthering my career and success.
I've held several solo exhibitions in Scotland, including Glasgow (Annan Gallery) and Edinburgh (Torrance Gallery and Scotland Art), and have held a couple of solo shows further south in England, mainly at the Wren Gallery in Burford.
I continue to be represented by galleries in Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, North Berwick, Tighnabruaich, Oxfordshire and London.
