Jean Héliès

Born in 1977, at the tip of Brittany in France, I immersed in the wilderness during my childhood. I was found of living things and i made it my profession. In 2008, I embarked on a new artistic career exploring human and animal nature.

My characters evolve in dreamlike and saturated spaces, lost in the fragility and density of a nature that overwhelms them. My works invite you to reconstruct the puzzle, to find meaning among the memories of moments and wonders that haunt and guide us.

Color, contrast and composition are my favorite ingredients in painting. Just as in part of my existence with emotions, intuitions or choices. I try to achieve a balance that is sensitive and narrative enough to touch people.
