Artist Statement

Within my practices I intend to articulate beauty as an inherent quality in all forms - even the seemingly grotesque - as a means to honor life and to challenge harmful, systemic ideology. I explore various concepts through my artwork and sometimes the hardest concept to explore is self and the expression of self. Regardless of conceptual center, I aim to strip down pretense and show up as authentically as possible to each piece.

I hope to be challenged by my work and that it antagonizes systems that capitalize off of unconscious living. I am looking for a connection to something deeper, a truth to feel confronted or comforted by.

Connection is my center and whether it be my paintings, woodworking or sculpture practices, building a relationship to and understanding the materials I work with is imperative.

2 Fun Facts:

I am looking for personal and collective liberation and some of my best friends are dogs.
