Jen typically works with pure pigment soft pastels which highly intense saturation and creamy texture create her signature style. The magically colored interpretations of iconic wildlife and natural wonders found in her works are inspired by nature and her love of all things living.
Jen Starwalt’s interest in animals and the natural world started as a young child. From her early days hiking in the Appalachian mountains of PA with her father and their lab, to her travels throughout the world, nature and wildlife have made a lasting impression on her memories.
Her vibrant style and application can be linked to her her love of impressionist and 20th century abstract art movements.
She hopes her paintings will draw attention to both the beauty and spirit of our wildlife as well as the dwindling natural environments in which they need to survive.
