Jim Aitchison is an artist and composer interested in separations and uncertain correspondences between different art forms. He is recognized for creating musical interactions with work by leading visual artists such as Gerhard Richter, Antony Gormley, Doris Salcedo, Anish Kapoor, Anthony Caro and Mark Rothko, for Tate Modern, the Henry Moore Foundation, the RA, The New Art Centre-Roche Court and others. He is also interested in failure, the effects of isolation, exclusion and mental illness on creativity. A long transition into creating visual art has occurred over 15 years.
