Jim Parks

After a long career in theater, radio...and television as the host of HGTV’s “New Spaces” – I converted my dining room into a studio and devoted myself “to producing the art that had been waiting inside all those years.”

When I am painting, I am in a flow...almost a trance...that makes the rest of the world fall away. Artists often talk about similar experiences. I can get so concentrated on that there is nothing more important in my entire life than THIS brushstroke.

…And I admit to being addicted to the experience. I need a little taste every day.

Often I feel as if there is a force larger than me, guiding the brush. This force tells me to sit down, shut up, and hand over the brush. I do as I am told, and the results never cease to amaze me.
