Jitske Schols

Artist Jitske Schols (b. 1969, Rotterdam, The Netherlands) works with various techniques including photography, painting and collage. Currently her focus is on painting.

Schols studies themes such as time and space and brings lost (her)stories back to the present.

After working for 20 years in communications, Schols decided to commit herself to photography and painting. While autodidact, she managed to built up an impressive oeuvre with an own unique signature in short time. Schols is now known for her portraits in national daily newspapers and magazines. Recently she had her first retrospective of paintings in a Dutch museum. Works by Schols are included in several corporate and museum collections.
