Joe Mcgillivray

I am figurative artist based in Wirral Merseyside. My studio is in West Kirby where I have produced my most recent series of oil paintings titled ‘Sanctuary. I was drawing and painting from a very early age. I attended Manchester Art School for my first degree in Fine Art then I was accepted as a post graduate student in painting at the Royal Academy Schools from 1980 - 83. I won the Landseer Award for painting as well as other drawing prizes.
Previously Director HE, Arts and Creative Media at Wirral Met College.
My paintings are in both private and public collections nationally and internationally.

Exhibited widely within the Uk - including - Northern Young Contemporaries, Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, The Stowells Trophy.
