John Lozano

I am a Los Angeles based oil painter originally from Philadelphia. I am self taught, utilizing a single mentor in my cousin Joseph P. Lozano. I have works at the Dillon Contemporary Fine Art Gallery, have been in the Culver City Art Walk, have had exhibits in stores and salons around Los Angeles, and maintain a reputable presence on the online Art database "Artsy."

My style is highly eclectic and malleable. My pieces teem with veiled symbolism and clashes of imagery. I will often concentrate on using the negative space of the canvas and valuing the background as much as the foreground image.

I am a process painter, regularly surrounding my prescribed direction to what reveals itself in the painting process.
