John Gianniny

Through vibrant color and contrast, impulsive layers and chaotic iteration, emerge the portraits and paintings of John Gianniny. Each painting reflects a spontaneous catharsis of lines, color, shapes, and form that build toward the idea of someone, but no certain finishing point is ever truly achieved. In these abstracted and deranged forms, we can acknowledge the layers, fractures, and inconsistencies of our self-identity, and the humility and fallibility of being. Each form is an ode to both the resilience of existing as a continuously identifiable entity and the inevitability that we will change, and always are doing so.
