I grew up a girl of the southern wild, playing and dancing in the half-light.
Cicada music blared in my ears as the magical illumination of evening called a halt to each day but foreshadowed a beginning to the next.
It was in this half-light that my soul took flight, that my art began, and that all I imagined danced on canvas.
Shadows, lights, and colors haunt my mind….Where shadows and light intertwine, bridging the familiar with the ethereal, exists the transient spectrum of the half-light.
My work celebrates the dichotomy of the tangible and the intangible, melding moments of reality with those of the imagined.
Each piece is my visual poem to the changing spirit of nature and the flow of time and space.
My creations echo the raw, ephemeral beauty of the natural world, intertwined with our poignant yearning for exploration and progression.
I do this skillfully with a variety of mediums to capture the emotional expression of the half-light.
The half-light represents the boundary of the known and the unknown, capturing fleeting moments of transition and the ever-present potential of what lies ahead.
It is the thin veil between the past and the future, the real and the dream.

Joanne is well known for her multi-talented artistry that captures the emotion of her subject through a skillfully expressive blend of color, brush stroke, and texture. She has a passionate desire to create art with a rare and subtle elegance for collectors with a refined palate for emotional expressionism. Joanne has a BA in Fine Art from Auburn University and over 30 years’ experience as an artist living and traveling throughout the world. Raised and now settled on a pond in the deep south, her art reflects the ardor of her environment and serves as a vehicle to convey the hidden energy of her subject. Each of her pieces are alive with a polished elegance, masterfully capturing the aura of the subject.
