Since graduating from Birmingham City University I have continued my post grad studies at Bourneville College of Art with my exploration and study of the immediate, intimate and accessible - rock pools, shellfish, found objects. This is found subject matter, subject matter that we look at but don't see. The found subject is then carefully selected and goes through a selection process, cropping and refinement.

The subject once chosen is then translated into and through the medium often beginning in monochrome, graphite or ink, but then broader experimentation in colour and texture also takes place. The direction is not forseen but follows from one piece to the next, most recently moving in many different directions, the initial intention has been development towards a different piece but the experimental pieces became works in their own right and have led to the realisation that these variations of a theme are the work.
