Through Evolution all living creatures inherited all, in order to survive.
But still… Why can’t animals communicate with man?
It seems hard to feel empathy for an animal if one doesn’t recognise any human characteristics.
( Imagine a school of fish which are caught in large nets. What if they could scream!).
By creating familiar situations or adding human characteristics to a vulnerable creature, Biesters works as an interpreter between nature and man.
With this work, Biesters gives a voice to the defenceless, for she believes in the essential unity of all existence.
Growing up on shaky ground: with a parent with personality disorder where there was no place for her own emotions.
By giving a voice to the innocent , Biesters makes a direct link to het past.
She works with discarded animals, including road-kill and general waste matter.
Creatures that are overlooked, destroyed or used for consumption.
The animals receive love, care and respect whilst being transformed into expressive beings. The natural beauty of the animals is combined with a little human touch, which allows the emotion to show through.
