Josep M Sola

I was born in 1970 in Sant Feliu de Pallerols, an small spanish village near to the Pyrenees, surrounded by mountains, nature and peace.
As an artist, I believe that my responsibility is to create something beautiful , something that makes people's live more pleasant. Imagine, therefore, the challenge and the courage involved in confronting a blank canvas, and in giving it a life of its own so that it can speak for itself as a whole.
I could describe my work as mainly based on research into light and colour as captured au naturel. The best example of what I am referring to here is crosslight, that exact instant when nature shows itself in all its splendour; when the primary and secondary colours are enhanced, the visual planes and distances are differentiated and the volumes are sharply contrasted, enriching the light and darkness of the shapes observed in nature.
The innate, natural gift of the artist, cultivated over time, transforms the represented landscape into a window onto reality.
I hope to provide viewers with an emotional respite, a unique moment of pleasure arising from the delight of contemplation.

In 1991 I began to study Fine Arts in Olot and graduated in 1996.

I have had more than 80 Solo exhibitions by now, and also several group exhibitions.
