Sydney born and bred photographer, Jo Wallace has been photographing for over 30 years. She has travelled extensively and is passionate about humans. In 2015 she created Humans of Newtown the blog which not only captured the hearts and minds of the quirky and inclusive iconic Sydney suburb, but attracted extensive media attention from across Australia and the globe. Her extensive body of work photographing strangers on the street was published in a best-selling book called 'Humans of Newtown - everyone has a story'.
Jo has studied extensively at university including tertiary qualifications in Asian Studies, Education, Communications and Business. In her spare time she has undertaken countless courses in photography, drawing and other art forms. She is currently furthering her artistic practice as a student at Sydney College of the Arts.
