J R Oatts - aka - Joanne Oatts, is a British abstract artist whose practice focuses on the theme of 'colour in motion'.
Her work has been exhibited in galleries and fairs in London, around the UK and internationally online, with collectors and followers across the globe.
Having lived in London for years, she has recently relocated her studio practice to the Peak District in the north of England.
Originally from Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, J R Oatts studied History of Art at Middlesex University. Since then, she has developed her practice with further training at Central St Martins, Slade and St Ives School of Painting, alongside working as a Creative Director in advertising.
In 2023, J R Oatts was Longlisted in the VAA Professional Artist Award, and selected as a Wildcard Artist for the upcoming series of Sky Arts 'Landscape Art of the Year'.
She has previously collaborated with Mayfair Art Weekend and Roy's Art Fair on live painting projects.
Currently based at her home studio in Bollington, J R Oatts is a member of professional artist organisations ArtCan and the Visual Artists Association.
After studying Art History at Middlesex University, she attended the likes of Slade, UCL, City Academy and Central St Martins for further training and CDP.
