I can't state what my artworks are about (if I could, there wouldn't be much need to make them). However, I can write what I've discovered while making them.

-It's all about making the artwork alive. I discovered that color, brushwork, scale and surface are living organisms. Acknowledging their independent lives, I established a sensitive dialogue between my ideas and these elements of painting.

-I discovered that some paintings are about pre-established images and other paintings find themselves in the process of making. In the western classical tradition where I was educated the visual arts are mostly about representation. Abstraction is the other side of the same coin. It means subtraction of visual information. It always leads back to representation. The same way the music composer doesn't need to listen outside of him in order to compose, I believe that is not necessary to look outside in order to make a painting.

-My paintings are about an event in which reality blurs with fiction. I blur and lose the forms, engaged by the way images occur in memories and dreams. To close or finish the forms would be to reduce the world to a place in which there is...
