Kamazhay Kair

Kamazhay Kair is a contemporary artist from Astana whose work reflects a deep connection to the cultural roots and national identity of Kazakhstan. Her artistic journey began in 2023 with commissioned interior paintings, but soon she turned to creating her own original works in the Kazakh ethno-style. This shift coincided with a growing nationwide interest in traditional culture — from jewelry and clothing to household items and decorative art.
Within just two years, Kamazhay established her own studio in the capital, where she not only develops new projects but also teaches and conducts workshops for adults. Her paintings are distinguished by a vibrant color palette, bold forms, and imagery inspired by naïve art, giving her works a sense of sincerity and vivid emotional expression.
Kamazhay’s artworks have resonated with artlovers both in Kazakhstan and abroad. Her pieces have been presented as gifts to leaders of major organizations in Kazakhstan and have also been acquired by private purchasers from the USA and Russia.
