Kate Marr

“My painting is all about capturing the atmosphere, beauty and energy of the coastline and landscape. I live in Bournemouth and find plenty of inspiration around me, often sketching on cliff tops, beaches or in The New Forest and other beautiful places in all weathers! When there is a wonderful contrast of light due to a moody sky or bright dappled sunshine glowing through the trees against shaded areas, I find pure joy in painting these dramatic scenes. I am always exploring painting the quirky shapes and forms nature provides with an imaginative contemporary style and with the use of beautiful colours.” -Kate Marr

Kate Marr is a professional contemporary mixed media artist from Bournemouth, and has worked as an artist for over the last decade since completing a Fine Art BA (Hons) degree at Plymouth University. Her work is known for its lively, atmospheric and dramatic qualities which include seascapes and landscapes from Dorset and beyond. Kate exhibits regularly, and her work can be found in private art collections around the world. She is an active member of various art groups and collectives and loves teaching art too.
