Katy Wroe

The circular form is a distinctive feature of many of my works. It also defines my working practice as I rotate from word to colour to form, each being a starting point for the next and an end point from the previous depending on my initial focus or trigger. Many of my works have an integral tanka poem as a result of this working progress. The journey begins with a Dada like process of found and appropriated colours, words and shapes. From these inspirations the final work in oil emerges rendered first as a grisaille then in multiple layers of thin oil colour.
