Kristina Duewell

Kristina is a contemporary abstract artist located in beautiful Breckenridge, Colorado, USA.

Artist statement:
In darkness, look for stars. In art, look to yourself.

At distance, these works are contrast; textures in light and dark, haloed and ethereal. In the turning aside of formal shapes, color uses the flat plane of the canvas to reach out to the viewer as we reach out to one another, seeking to understand and be understood.

Closer, an invitation and an immediacy: the push and pull of something that seems on the verge of happening, although we might never understand what it is.

This is the intensely personal act of seeing what we see, of feeling what we feel, wherever the revealings take us. In the effect and affect, a cosmology of our imaginings--the clear, cloudy, complex place we can see but cannot define.

The Grand Colorado on Peak 8
Several large-scale metal prints of Kristina's work are currently on display in the common areas at the Grand Colorado on Peak 8 resort in Breckenridge, Colorado. Summer 2016-now.

Gallery at Studio J
Two of Kristina's paintings were chosen to compete in a juried show at the Gallery at Studio J in Denver, Colorado, during the summer of 2017. One of which, Red and Black 06, won 2nd place.

Lakewood Arts District Show
