Based in Portugal, I’m a 40 year-old self-taught painter. The past and the fact that we are not able to change it always fascinated me; the idea of linear time. Using old pictures, frames of films and magazines, I dream of a present of a changed past. Colors, formats, figures, situations that adjust to what I would like that moment to have been. The distortion of a moment that exists as a reality in time, and like all realities there is a “what if”.
The irony is that soon this new present will also be a new past.

Quite often I dream…. Quite often I think I wish some moment should have been a different way… Quite often I dream of that… Quite often I paint what should be a past thing… Different colors, different expressions, different realities, different ways, different…Quite often I steal old pictures or short clips and make them my dreams… Quite often I use music… Quite often they merge…
