Artist Kim Incheol is great interested in the "Dot". It is one of basic element in the formative arts. He trusted that the Dot has sufficient formative language by itself and expressed a unique visual as the differential or integral on formative elements. The Dot is a group of another dots, each Dots become again component parts to form different shape. As a matter of course, the Dot can change with perfect freedom because it is the smallest unit of formative element. The Dots filled on a canvas make rhythm themselves and it becomes a method giving rise to the expansion of consciousness from spectators too.
Recently his works are showing that the material of Dot is not limited to draw on the canvas and based on all formations instead of occupying physical space. The work to dot and build small tactile points in full details with acrylic painting is very simple and requires much concentration. In this way, it is similar with Zen Buddhism to form of the buddhist religion that concentrates on mention.
