Kirstie Adamson

My collages use the colours and textures that I find in magazines as an alternative to paint. It is intentional that when viewing my work that the method used is not instantly obvious. At first glance it is often assumed that I have used paint and only on closer inspection does it become apparent that the piece consists entirely of ripped and cut magazines.

I am inspired by the idea that climate change is real and my collages often feature nature & children as a reminder that we need to preserve the earth for future generations. My solo exhibition planned for September 2017 aims to illustrate these concepts through a body of work relating to fairytales and fiction.
