Kat Masella

Kat Masella is an expressionistic encaustic mixed media artist and teacher. The subtleties of her work tend to evoke visceral personal experiences and emotions. Kat states, "One has only seconds to transfer molten wax to surface before the wax hardens - this immediacy forces my presence in the moment - becoming a flowing meditation on the transient nature of both wax and of life”. The challenging working properties of the molten wax suits her go-with-the-flow nature and of Kat's goals of inducing positive and thoughtful emotions for the viewer.
