Grid has always fascinated me, not just as a visual structure but also as a principle of the inner organisation of things. Particularly intriguing is the fact that the grid is a dull and inactive structure, typically associated with architecture, construction, recording (whether words or music), screens, data transfer, and natural cycles. Rosalind Krauss suggests that the grid reflects standardisation and mass production while turning its back on nature. The grid serves to replace genuine dimensions with an aesthetic equivalent. It establishes autonomy in art that is flat, geometrised, and orderly. When we summarise the most transparent features of the grid and its system, we arrive at functionalism, order, clear structure, and the subordination of nature, among others.

Working with grids is challenging, particularly due to their strict characteristics and regulations. My central question is always: how can one create artwork that adheres to the rules of a grid while still reflecting life and living things?
