Lacey Gregg-Mehojah

Lacey Gregg-Mehojah is a painter based in Wichita, KS. Her professional background includes years in foster crisis care, where she supported children experiencing complex trauma. This experience profoundly influenced her artistic practice; unable to share the children's stories directly, she began painting them instead.

Her "Flower Series" emerged from this period as a visual testimony to these children, utilizing abstraction to protect their privacy. Through color, gesture, and intensity, Lacey processes her experiences and the resilience she witnessed.

In 2024, she transitioned away from direct care work to focus on rest and her creative practice. Currently, she is exploring the intersections of technology and art, specifically coding ethically with AI applications, to understand how technology can amplify human creativity. Her work continues to center on the themes of witnessing, honoring privacy, and transforming difficult experiences into visible art.
