Lachezar Kostov is a Bulgarian photographer, born in the 60s.
He was first introduced to and fascinated by photography from his youth and began taking pictures at the tender age of 12. The young photographer used a simple camera with black and white negative film. The black and white technique remains his preferred method as a way to express himself.

After 1982 Lachezar had the opportunity to use different types of single lens reflex cameras. Meanwhile, he took the time to study in depth all film processing techniques. Lachezar has the winning combination of expert knowledge and the skills of a photographer, lab technician as well as those of a reporter.

In 1984 After a state competition, he assumes the position of photo reporter for Bulgarian Photography JSK. His work as a reporter made him sensitive to the dynamic of events and developed his skills to highlight details. His proficiency is obvious in his skill to compose a picture on the go. He gained a lot of his knowledge from studying the work of world renowned photographers he admires as Josef Sudek, Martin Munkácsi, Robert Doisneau, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Rene Burri, Ara Güler, David Seymour, Fan Ho, Alfred Eisenstaedt, Robert Capa and many others.
