Laragh Spearman

I make art that ranges from abstract acrylic paintings to creative textiles using a wide range of different media.
I have taken part in several group shows in Norwich, Suffolk and London, and have been studying creative textiles for the past six years.
I enjoy working with dyeing different types of fabric, stencilling and embossing techniques, and machine embroidery.
I have always been fascinated by symbolic images in stories and myths, such as: cauldrons, underground caves, and mythical animals; and these have often travelled into my artwork!

My inspirations include: music with a fusion element eg: Moby, Fever Ray (will add more later), looking at art that merges painting and textiles as I tend to work more with these mediums now.

I have a Fine Art degree (painting) from Norwich School of Art & Design.
I was born in London, and came up to study for my degree in Norwich where I now live.
I have taken part in several group exhibitions in Norfolk, Suffolk and London, and regularly take part in Open Studios at the Art Factory Studios in Norwich.,
