Lea Mantel

I was born and raised in Germany.

Käthe Kollwitz has by far had the greatest artistic influence in my life.

My pictures, like hers, are usually centered around people, attempting to capture something of humanity, and contain little to no background.
I like playing with the fact that art can reveal but also cover up, it can draw you in but it can also convey distance. Often both happens at the same time.

From the end of highschool I have chosen my own unusual path.
I lived in Thailand for three and a half years, doing volunteer work. I trained as a life-coach with an international organization called coaching mission interantional. And I was an undercover artist who did not go to university.
Now I'm livig in Germany, working a bread-and-butter job. And working at painting and drawing, and coaching, towards making a living as an artist who can inspire and help others dig deeper into their creativity and increase their agency.
