My work moves between the abstract, the surreal and the organic, sometimes human shapes. It comes from an interest in the human relationship to opposites

I´ve lived in many places in the world and always had a need to find our similarities rather than our differences.

I work with the tensions and contradictions that characterize our time politically, socially and between the genders. I see polarization as something that starts in the individual: in our need to divide the world into contrasts such as beautiful and ugly, good and evil.

Through an intuitive and perceptive process, I examine my own emotional contradictions. The works revolve around the desire to create balance where there is discord, and to find peace in the midst of chaos.

With my art, I want to reflect on how we can dissolve polarization and approach a more whole experience of ourselves and each other.

Lea Sonne (b.1976, Frederikshavn,Denmark) Lived in Copenhagen for most of her adult life. Today she lives and works in Ringsted, Central Zealand.

Lea has 30 years of experience as a visual artist. She has, an education from "Ryesgade school of drawing" ,"Primavera art school"

She worked as an makeup-artist and special effect artist for 15 years

She is also training to be an art therapist, focusing on the impact of colors and shapes on the psyche.
